Your Pathway to AASECT Certification
The AMARE Institute supports professionals pursuing the AASECT Certified Sexuality Counselor (CSC) credential through comprehensive sexuality education, skills development, and AASECT-aligned supervision.
Our approach combines knowledge of sexuality, practical counseling skills, reflective practice, and supervised clinical experience to help professionals develop competence as sexuality counselors.
Whether you are beginning your sexuality counseling education or have already completed some AASECT requirements, we can help you understand your pathway and identify the training and supervision you need.
AASECT awards the CSC credential. The AMARE Institute provides education and supervision to support your certification pathway.

Sexuality Education & Skills Training
AMARE training supports the educational components of the CSC pathway, including AASECT's 90 hours of Human Sexuality Core Knowledge and 60 hours of Sexuality Counseling Skills Training.
Training courses can be found HERE.
Our education combines foundational knowledge with practical application so you can develop both what you know and how you apply it in practice.
Attitudes & Values Development
Becoming a sexuality counselor requires thoughtful examination of our own experiences, assumptions, values, and beliefs related to sexuality.
AASECT requires 14 hours of structured attitudes and values training. AMARE incorporates reflective learning into its educational and supervision approach, while applicants are responsible for ensuring that any formal attitudes and values experience they complete meets current AASECT requirements.

AASECT Supervision
Supervision is a central part of the CSC pathway.
AASECT requires 30 hours of supervision over a minimum of 12 months, including 100 hours of sexuality counseling experience completed under supervision.
At AMARE, supervision is a collaborative learning process focused on developing clinical competence and confidence.
Group & Individual Supervision
AMARE offers both group and individual supervision to support different learning needs.
Group supervision provides opportunities for case consultation, collaborative learning, and professional connection
Individual supervision provides dedicated time to focus on your clinical practice and professional development.
AASECT allows no more than 50% of the required supervision hours to be completed through group supervision.
