About The Course

The PLISSIT and EX-PLISSIT Model course explores two widely used frameworks in sex therapy, sexuality counselling, and sex education. Participants will learn the four levels of intervention: Permission, Limited Information, Specific Suggestions, and Intensive Therapy—and how to apply them in clinical practice.

The course also examines the EX-PLISSIT model, with its added emphasis on permission-giving, self-reflection, and collaborative client care. Through case studies and practical examples, participants will develop skills for addressing sexual concerns, providing appropriate support, and recognizing when referral to specialized therapy is needed. This introductory course is 3 hours (including breaks). Course content is 2.5 hours long (2.5 AASECT CEs).
